Zen and the art of yoga in Mid-Willamette Wine Country (3 yoga recommendations)

Looking to make your visit to Mid-Willamette Wine Country as peaceful, relaxed and Zen as possible? We have three recommendations on how best to access yoga in the Willamette Valley.

Paddle Board Yoga

Sun Ray Studios  – Private Sessions at MaMere’s Guest House and Paddle Board Yoga

Yoga Instructor Rachel’s yoga flow is inspired by ancient yogic tradition and the latest in the health and exercise world. She lives yoga every day and wants to help others do the same!

Offering private sessions for two at MaMere’s Guest House, guests can experience the joy that Hatha Yoga has to offer. Start your day off with a yummy breakfast at the B&B, and then transition to a peaceful and private yoga session in MaMere’s Guest House Carriage House or outside, if the weather cooperates. Your hour of yoga is followed by a mimosa or glass of wine to continue the ultimate relaxation…you choose! Socially distanced classes are also offered at the B&B, if this is more your style. Check with Sun Ray Studios for the most up to date schedule.

Sun Ray Studios also provides summer Paddle Board Yoga classes with Woodward Surf Company at Turner Lake. Step out of your comfort zone and try some yoga ON the water and hope you don’t end up IN the water. You will have about 15 minutes to get comfortable on the board and 60 minutes of guided yoga. Book directly through Woodward Surf Company.

Yoga Pose

Yoga + Beer (or Yoga + Wine or Yoga + Cider ☺)

Don’t be deceived by beer in the name. Yoga + Beer offers yoga sessions around the valley that are held at local breweries, wineries and cideries. So, pick your beverage of choice and register for an upcoming class on their website. This is a fun way to explore the Willamette Valley and see all this area of the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Sessions begin with a 60-minute, all-levels yoga class, and then attendees get to stay after class for a post-class beverage. You will probably have a hard time choosing which session to attend, because the experiences and vibes are all different depending on the venue. Many of which offer stunning views of the Willamette Valley. In fact, you might just want to book two sessions during the course of your stay. Make sure to register well in advance, as these classes fill up quickly.  MaMere’s Guest House is the perfect home base for many of Yoga + Beer’s class offerings.

Goat Yoga

Salem Goat Yoga – Yoga…with goats.

Ok, ok…so this yoga class might not be for everyone. But, if you love animals, this is the yoga option for you. Enjoy a 45-minute goat yoga session followed by additional time for goat cuddles. Bet you didn’t know that goats like to cuddle. Looking for the perfect shot to capture what is sure to be one of your most memorable experiences in the Willamette Valley? You will have plenty of time at the end of class to document this unique experience. And believe me you are missing out if a goat hasn’t stood on your back at least once in your life. Only 15 minutes from MaMere’s Guest House, we recommend staying at our charming historic B&B when you come to do yoga with the goats!
