Meet the Innkeepers at MaMere’s Guest House

Hello – It is so nice to meet you! My name is Emily and I am the innkeeper at MaMere’s Guest House in downtown Monmouth, Oregon. I am the mom of Olivia, a precocious and vivacious two-year-old and wife to Mike, the best partner one could ask for.

My goal with this blog is to give you a taste of what it is like to be an innkeeper, mom, wife, and resident of Monmouth, Oregon.  I love this area of the world and want to give you a glimpse into why it is so great. Two towns-one community – that describes Monmouth and our neighboring town, Independence, perfectly. Monmouth is the home of Western Oregon University and boasts many great wineries around our town.  Independence is nestled along the Willamette River and is known for its stunning 4th of July fireworks display, among other things…which we will talk about in the days to come!

MaMere’s Guest House is a six room B&B located at the historic Howell House. Build in 1891, the property once served as a boarding house for women while they attended the nearby college. My parents, Bill & Sarah, own the bed and breakfast and my brother, Eli, and I run it. Of course, Olivia and Mike play instrumental roles as chief greeter and taste tester, respectively. Check out our website – www.mameresguesthouse.net for more information about the B&B! Follow our Facebook page  and Instagram–  !

So I hope you will join me on this ride as we explore the area, try new recipes, and give tips and tricks for running a B&B with a 2 year old by my side!
